This Carrd table tutorial explains how to create and customize a table using Carrd’s built-in Table element. You’ll learn how the Headings and Rows fields work and how to use Markdown to format your table content.
Add the Carrd Table Element
Start by accessing the Carrd editor by logging into your Carrd account. You can also practice using the free editor without logging in. From there, choose a blank page, a template, or an existing site.
Once you’re in the editor, click the Plus (+) icon in the top-right corner and select Table.
A new Table element will appear on your page. Click on it to open the left-side menu, where you’ll find the Headings and Rows fields.

Add Your Carrd Table Headings
The first field is for Headings. It is optional, so if you don’t need headings, simply leave it empty.
Add one heading per line, with a maximum of 20 lines. Each line represents one column in your table.
You can also use prefixes to align your columns. Add a – before the heading to align the column to the right, or use – on both sides of the heading to center it.
For example:
Feature
-Price
-Status-

Add Rows to Your Carrd Table
The next field is for Rows. Add one cell per line. To start a new row, simply leave a blank line.
For example, if your table has three columns, enter three lines for the first row, with one piece of content on each line. Then leave one line empty and add three more lines for the second row.
Continue adding three cells at a time, leaving a blank line between each row, until you have all the rows you need.
For example:
Custom Domain
$19
Available
Analytics
$9
Included

Formatting with Markdown
Markdown is a lightweight markup language that lets you change the appearance of text in your table. You can make text bold, italic, underline it, add links, use special characters, and more.
To apply Markdown formatting, simply add the appropriate special characters before and after the text you want to format. Additionally, you can combine multiple formatting effects.
For example:
**Albert Camus**
__*The Stranger*__
==1942==
Result:

Markdown formatting is not limited to tables. Carrd also supports it in Text elements, gallery captions, lists, and forms.

Adjusting Carrd Table Appearance
To make design changes beyond Markdown formatting, such as changing text colors, fonts, table styles, borders, padding, margins, alignment, and more, click the Brush icon in the top-left menu.
There are three sections: Table, Headings, and Rows. At the bottom of each section, you’ll also find settings for Mobile.
You can also animate the table. Click the third icon at the top and choose an animation action (fade in, blur in, etc.). The animation will start when the user scrolls to the section containing the table.
If you have the Plus or Pro plan, you can make additional changes using code by clicking the fourth icon at the top. This lets you modify elements and styles, as well as add IDs, classes, and attributes.

Useful Tips
- Keep your rows consistent. Make sure each row contains the same number of cells as your headings.
- Leave a blank line between rows. Carrd uses an empty line to start a new row.
- Use Markdown for text formatting. You can use supported Markdown syntax to add bold text, italics, and links inside your table cells.
- Keep tables simple. Too many columns can make a table difficult to read, especially on smaller screens.
- Check the mobile version. Use the Mobile settings to adjust the table for smaller screens if needed.
- Use alignment strategically. Left-align text and consider right-aligning numbers, prices, or other numerical information.
Conclusion
Carrd’s Table element makes it easy to add structured information to your website without writing custom code. Once you understand how the Headings and Rows fields work, you can create simple tables and use Markdown to format their content. You can then adjust the table’s appearance and mobile settings to match your design.
